Seen an article on (8-liner?) on using tubes from TV sets. Many 19"
models in the 80's used the same tubes as many arcade monitors. Take an
old tube to your local tv repair guys. They can probably match you up
several either dirt cheap or FOC. And they won't have any burn in.
There may be some slight differences in the mounting brackets, just be
sure to compare. And if it has a high/low impeadence deflection coil
try and get that too, in case the deflection angle on the tube is a few
degrees different. Then you can just wire in the one that was matched
with that tube.
Just search 8-liner for the page, or follow my advice. People do this
all the time, and it works great. I plucked a killer nice medium res
19" tube this way. Just need something to use it on =\
