Gainward 7900 GT for AGP!

just like me i guess lol 😳 (still using my 6800), well this should drive the G70 7800GS price down a fair bit, could consider it. :!:

It's not really worth waiting for prices to drop. When they drop, better parts will be available. So you'll always say "I'll wait 'till prices drop", and you'll always end up waiting.

But this does seem nvidia are eally stretching AGP's existance and its seems this is the last generation it will hand out,

well see when the benchies are out and if its really worth the £250+ (its probably going to cost around that mark).

Not Nvidia... this is Gainward's doing, all by itself.

If Nvidia was backing it, they'd allow Gainward to call the card a 7900 GT...

oh yes sorry Gainward lol, my bad. 😳

I wonder how much of a performace increase it'll have over the G70, the GS line always pack a punch.

Biggest problem with the Gainward is that for the price (nearly 300 pounds)
I could buy a pci-e mobo, a 7900 gt, and still have roughly $100 left over
for some other upgrade. And that's for the 20 pipeline card.

Assuming the new card will cost more, I may ever be able to buy a pair of
7900s for what they'll be charging for the AGP card.
I don't mind paying extra for convenience, but the Gainward card
just makes is silly. I just can't see any justification for paying a 66%
premium to make a card for AGP. (That's 7900 gtx prices for 7800 gt performance.)

I'd like to see a sub $350 X1800XT AGP, even if just a 256MB card. These Gainwards mean nothing to us in North America, not that it would matter much if they were available but for $400+ anyway. Shoot, if it's really 300 pounds, the His IceQ 3 X1900XT is the out at OCUK, and for 300 pounds on day one.
