Hello, my brother recently purcahsed the galaxy s6 phone, white. Since it came today I noticed my internet was very slow and thus I did a pingtest scan and it came out with the pings outragously high. I told my brother it was his phone and explained that it was just downloading updates and so I said ok and didn't bother him until 12 hours later.
12 hours later the internet was still being outragously high.Normally my ping is between high 20s to low 40s , but it was 400-600 with packet loss and up to 100 jitter. Last year the same thing happened, but I don't know the cause and it fixed itself some how (For a whole year I had over 100 ping, up to 400 for no reason, but almost exactly a year later it fixed itself, I managed to get through it)
Anyways, I told him to turn the wifi off (Not using his actual plan internet, as he would go over his data usage quickly costing him much money), and the pings immediately dropped to normal pings with no packet loss whatsoever. So we figured out the s6 is the cause of the high ping, yet download speeds 'seem' normal (my internet is 15mbs unlimited from timewarner) equals to around 2 mb per second. Anyways we are planning on talking to customer support tomorrow when they open, but we all know how terribly customer support can be. Do any of you know a way to fix it? He has almost no apps at all, and browsing facebook or youtube doesnt seem to really increase ping at all, or it could, I just havent noticed. Anyways the last thing I want to do is make him return his phone, so any tips? Thanks
