In the last few days I have noticed very poor performance from my CPU. Games I used to be able to run smoothly are now lagging and when I looked into the task manager, I noticed than anything that is running in the forefront take up more CPU usage than is normal. If I run a game, it immediately uses up what's left of my CPU putting my total usage at 100%. It's not svchost.exe or anything else. Also I noticed really bad lag when moving my mouse that was set at 1000Hz polling rate, which is what has always been at. If I move my mouse the CPU usage skyrockets, even with it set to 250Hz. There was a recent power outage and I fear that it may have damaged my CPU but I'm not sure. It didn't start happening until then. Is this a possibility or could it be anything else? I've check all over the internet for solutions but no one has had anything related to my problem. Again, anytime I run a game it uses all of my CPU. It's never just one process that's eating it up, it's all of them. Nothing else is struggling on my system. GPU is fine, RAM is fine, HDD is fine. I'm considering a reformat because I'm having another Windows related issue, but that issue doesn't have any relation to this one.
