my gtx 760 could run bf4 on ultra setitngs without AA/motion blur around a 60 fps with an ocasional drop on 1080p.
I thought I'd mention. this is however with an MSI card and they come with an overclock.
IMO yes. Because that card is OCed out of the box, which is out of the scope of this list. An 8GB version of 970 (shall it come out) will easily outpower it. Including such a card may not allow the list to reflect what it aims to, a direct and to the point comparision of reference gaming cards.
I like this list. Maybe to put Tier One - Class Three R9 290X 8GB? Its the same performance as 980GTX especially on 4k resolutions.

What review did you read? It barely beats a 970 at 4k, not a 980..
not talking about the dual GPU cards especialy, just those cards that come with another 2GB or VRAM etc. shouldnt be to many, just an idea 😉
(like the discusses r9 290x 8GB and the gtx 760 4 GB etc)
LukaBoki, IMO no. HD 7990 and GTX 690 is more or less R9 280X CFX and GTX 770 SLI respectively. I've seen GTX 760 SLI outperform a GTX 780 Ti, so GTX 770 SLI shall outdo the 980 by a considerable margin. The difference won't be drastic, 10-20% gain, but that's what separates the GTX 980 from 970 so
I'd still stay with my Tier 1 Class 2,as if you're gonna be gaming,CUDA cores don't really matter.Maybe a tiny bit,but VRAM and memory bandwidth are more important.
This will take time as there are so many cards to compare with.
As far as I know, the GTX 970 performs between the GTX 980 and a GTX 780. So maybe a Tier 1 Class 4 can be created but I will still think about that, because I cannot just classify it as an enthusiast card.
IMO, GTX 970 is not enthusiast class, as they should 'easily max out latest titles' (and most intensive) with comfortable (50+) FPS on FHD. I have more than one example where it fails, Crysis3 for instance.
