Gaming system specification under budget - please comment

Hello Everyone,

I'm posting it in graphics and displays forum since primarily I need to know

whether the graphics card I have chosen is good or not and then of course regarding the

other components.

I plan to build a budget PC for gaming and I have shortlisted the following

components and have specific question regarding the same

I'm in India and I have chosen components currently available in India and which

are within my budget. Please let me know if some higher capability components are

available under the same price bracket or if I have chosen wrongly.

Generally components available in flipkart.com or http://www.theitdepot.com are available in India so please suggest alternatives which are available with flipkart or theitdepot.com

1) Video card: GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448

7) I'm planning to buy windows 7 home BASIC edition only. Would there be a problem should I buy a professional edition instead ?

Can I safely say that I can play future games at least for the next couple of years or am I dreaming ?

Only buy 8 gigs of ram and spend the savings on a better PSU. Don't cheap out on one, it can end up really biting you in the ass.

Would 8GB RAM be more than enough ?

500W would be sufficient isn't it ? I am looking Cooler Master RS-550-PCAR 550 Watts PSU now

Also how about the other components are they ok for my budget ?

Overall I am not to sure, I just finished building my first rig. One thing that I consistently found as I did my research was that pretty much every game does not use even 8 gigs of ram. Also for the PSU buy the best you can afford, and by best I mean the one that has the best reviews. 8GB is a good amount, and probably more than you'll ever need. Do not skimp on a PSU, get one with an 80+ bronze/silver rating and good reviews.

Also i would try to get an i3-2100 or second gen core i3/i5 (sandy bridge). That graphics card should be great at 1920x1280 resolution for quite some time.

I know I can search model by model but is there a link where it lists all the latest PSUs with their associated reviews in tomshardware ? That would save a lot of time indeed.

Also i would try to get an i3-2100 or second gen core i3/i5 (sandy bridge).

I will try to stretch my budget a little for the i3 - 2100 but is i5 really necessary or would it help ?

Honestly any 2nd gen core i# should be great. I said to try to get a sandy bridge processor because they tend to OC very well and are a pretty big improvement over the first gen chips. The link you posted had the first gen chip for 4500Rs (or about 100$ I believe), whereas the i3-2100 can usually be found around 120$ (5400Rs). That would be my choice if I was you. You don't need an i5-2400 if you are on a budget and gaming is the primary consideration.

You can always search PSUs at a retailer like amazon / newegg, even if you cannot order from those sites.

You cannot use the 1st generation i3 CPU with those motherboards so you need to get a 2nd gen CPU anyway. If you can't afford the i3 2100 or 2120 got a Pentium Gxx series.
