Gateway p6318U sata driver, will not load OS

Hello,
I have a Gateway P6318U notebook, no restore CD, Gateway no longer sells them and tru=ing to load a new OS(XP,Vista & Win7. Does recognise SATA HD without drivers. Tried to slipstream all drivers I though might be and no luck. Although it has Intel GL969 chipsrt , SATA is different. I set SATA in Bios to "compatibility
SUggestions?

IO dont beleive that model had a recovery disk, it used the hidden partition method like HP's do. Gateway calls it eRecovery.

You can download gateways hardware detection utility here:

but it should be an intel 965 chipset driver as shown in the drivers section.

The HD is new so no restore partition and the SATA drive is not included in any version of Windows, been there tried that . The SATA controller is a SI3531.
I had an old XP cd and was able to slipstream that driverand get it to recognize and partially install XP until it had probems reading the CD
