Guys,

I have an old XFX GeForce 7300GT 512 MB DDR2 AGP card and when taking apart my CPU the power cable (the card needs additional power) that comes with the card went missing. I'm not sure what exactly the cable is called and I would like to know in order to buy a replacement.

I believe it is a: 4 pin molex to 12V ATX power cable as seen here (please don't comment about price, I will buy it elsewhere)

Let me know if this is correct or if the cable is called something else.

Thanks for replying. On my even older 6600 it needed two molex power cables but on this card it's a single 2x2. It's from XFX so I guess it's different than the BFG model.

I would like to know if I can use this (linked in the first post) cable safely with my card.

The cable is good for the card.

I have NEVER seen a video card require a square plug like that. Before you buy it, make sure your card has the correct arrangment of square and notched/rounded plugs. If your card needs a rounded plug where that adapter is square, it won't work. If you have a link to your card I'd love to see it. (do you live outside the USA by any chance?)

I'm unable to find any image on the net. The rounded and square plug is useful information. I didn't know about that. I'll make sure to check it carefully.

In case I wasn't clear enough...

If you look at the 2x2 plug in the link you provided, two are square and two are rounded. Double check with your card to make sure they line up correctly. If they aren't in the correct order, its the wrong part.
