General Computer Question

I got a "blue screen of death" in Windows XP before - never seen that
before. Anyways, when I got back online, I looked at my Event Viewer, and
saw this. It says "No user intervention required", but I tend to doubt
Microsoft, and this definitely does scare me - should I worry about this?
The event log notes:

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bf9fd8d5, parameter3
b4e0fba8, parameter4 00000000.

Explanation

More info, as my computer again went down on me - this was in the event log
when I logged back in:

QoS [Adapter {5EE484A1-196B-4E06-B3C9-64D03FC98E7E}]:
The UpperBindings key is missing from the registry.

That link says that I should unistall and then reinstall the QoS adapter, as
Windows thinks the port is in the wrong spot, or something to that effect.

I have no problems doing this - but again, I just don't always trust what
they say to do and want to see if the experts have an opinion before I do
something really stupid.
