Getting no sound

Hello, I have a 19" vizio led lcd tv. I hooked up my computer to the tv and everything was okay. For awhile the sound was there, then it started fading in and out and I would have to reboot my system to get the sound back. Now, I am getting no sound at all. I decided to get a 3.5mm audio cable to connect from the pc my tv, rebooted and still I get no sound at all. Can someone please help me? What is the problem?

Connect headphones to your computer. If you hear sound the problem is in the tv. If you dont then its in the computer.
