hi guys,

I just got my new pc a few days ago and today after a period of time sitting on it, i'm getting shocked by electricity whenever i try to touch any electrical device at home (like the light switch and laptop for example) i'm touching the actual case and opened it and touched the PSU and mother board and VGA but nothing happened i have a "EVGA 750W 80+ Gold".
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Its not from the actual pc that i got i touched the case and all the inside parts nothing happened as i mentioned above. Could it be just an electrostatic shock ? Since the air in the room is dry because of the heater is turned on

You probably have clothes that generate electrostatic, and a carpet also generates it, don't build your PC in that kind of enviroment because you will fry the motherboard. Touch your waterpipes to get the static electricity out of you.

I'm not building it here i already got it assembled and i put the case on top of a piece of wood so it doesnt touch the carpet yes could be the chair im sitting on too

But what i don't understand one thing is that the pc doesn't shock me i read other threads that usually if its the PSU the pc will shck me. With me its totally the opposite the pc is fine but everything else not . Could be just a coincidence ?

The PC might give you differently charged electrostatic which discharges when you touch other stuff. The PC might still be the cause.
