Post the pix here before they disappear I cant get in any site lmao.. brb getting a beer

lol @ the bars, when the 480 is 1 fps faster they stretch the bar to make it look 2x faster LOl

So, the general consensus seems to be exactly what the rumors have been saying for the last month and a half. The 480 boasts about 10-15% more performance on average (depending on the resolution), but runs hotter, draws more power, and hits your wallet harder than the HD 5870. At least one set of benchmarks is showing the GTX 470 losing to the HD 5850 almost across the board. And all this with an extra six months of development time.

Still waiting on Tom's review... :ange: (and come on - posting AMD's comments on Fermi before posting your own reviews? Come on, guys!)

lol Mikhael from hardwarecanucks: Say it with me: ninety five degrees
The card throattle at 105 so in furemark same situation as the 5970.

Toms review down wow

I just noticed that... I'm stuck on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 page, and I can't go anywhere else.
I think I'll get off the computer and see if these sites are online in about an hour...

I was gunna open every tab so I wouldn't run into this issue but I didn't care enough, then when I wanted to see them, the review was down D:

10-15% better in the 1,900-1,200 res but on the higher it doesn't make much of an improvement over 5870 maybe 1-3%, anyway i don't play at resolutions that high since i like to have my FPS on the playable side.

For me i wish they have put the price little lower with better performance maybe 449.99$ so that the 5870 dropped but from what i see here it isn't going to happen anytime soon 5870 isn't much slower for 100$ less.
Hmmm I guess Nvidia wanted to just fit in between 5870 and 5970 to try and steal the market by making the middle class Enthusiast. Maybe Ati will drop the 5970 to 550$ if that happened then Nvidia could forget about selling any Chips.

Well all reviews says the same thing, ~13% faster than a 5870 overall(Most of this is due to Heaven Bench) while costing 120$ more. Runs very hot 95C. Very low OC potential, Very High Power Consumption. Low Quanitys= Higher than msrp prices, SLi480 will need min 850w or more. Yup, @ 2560x1600 not notable improvement over a 5870 maybe with AA but I think thats is because of the 1.5Gb bigger buffer thats fills fast @ 2560x1600 when AA is added.

Well some people dont only buy these gpus for gaming, Folding will be top selling for those cards I bet. The 480 nearly Double the 285 Folding power Good for medical research.

Hmm strangely that review Only shows nVidia favored games for the 480 lmao Whers Crysis,Stalker,Bad Company 2 The 3 top games? I guess nVidia gave them something in return at least they showed the very high power consumption :na:

I don't know what other benchmarks you want, they did what really mattered and that was Dirt2, and Metro. If they really wanted to show something that favored nvidia they could have used battleforge, which tends to do very well on these fermi cards. If you're saying they're biased, you should read through the whole review and listen to their podcasts because they've been blasting Nvidia for awhile now.

lol yeah there's no way to hide that

I am just saying they did not include the 3 best games dont you know any1 of them are you sure? Bad Company 2, Crysis, Stalker:CoP no one of those are familiar to you?

btw AnandTech review shows the 480 drawing 43w more than the Dual-GPU 5970 while being 1.6x slower

Listen to that Helicopter noise lol especially when the GPU hit 90c.

At 30$ more, go for it.

But last time I checked, Vapor X has beeen artifiaxcly rasied to about 80$, E50, more.

But yeah, ou can pay up to 300E, but at more than 300E the Vapor-X is a ripoff.

They were susposed to be like E15 more, but eneded up being E50 more 🙁

Edit: The GTX 480 is a total fail.

The GTX 470 has potential, but needs to be 300$ to be a good buy.

Bad Company 2 isn't exactly and ideal game to benchmark as you have to account for error of variability, since most people only play the multiplayer. Crysis is FINALLY old news, but still runs slightly better on nvidia cards according to AnandTech. Metro 2033 is the new Crysis in a sense, and I actually think is a better game.

AnandTech has the best review of these cards so far, and I'm sure it will stay that way.

Yep, the best review in my opinion, showing the 480 43w more power draw than a Dual-GPU 5970 while playing. Yes, Metro is heavy but not all people like Dark games,Doom like games, I like Tropics where you see the sun, trees, natures beauty.

If it doesn't go more than 500 bucks, which it will after lack of supply. In that sense it is a failure as it's less performance than Nvidia would have hoped.

I disagree. Metro has no multiplayer, only single player, and a good player can easily beat the game in 10 hours, at with point there is no reason to ever play it again due to a lack of MP.

Now don't get me wrong, some non-MP games, like Oblivion, but Oblivion had a 500+, or arguably 1000+ hour gameplay time, to the Metro 2033 gameplay of 10 hours.

Did you see what pcper said about GTX 480 in sli? They had spikes of over 700 watts...... Talk about rediculous. AnandTech reported 851W for them.

And the fail sound that HardOPC post is quite funny.

Last time iv seen the non-ref cards were same price. The 5870 Lighntning is tempting me to sell the 5850 and get it.

Lmao AnandTech guy says: At this point we don’t have any reason to doubt NVIDIA’s word on this matter, but with that said this wouldn’t discourage us from taking the appropriate precautions. Heat does impact longevity to some degree – we would strongly consider getting a lifetime warranty for the GTX 480 to hedge our bets.

LOL
