Hello, I just bought yesterday a R9 270X and tried to plug it up, but no display at all. Tried with my other card, everything worked fine with that one. I don't have hdmi cable on my monitor, so I bought a hdmi-vga switcher to display the monitor, but that's not working. Fans spinning, plugged in the card correctly, checked the processor pins, did a reset on bios too, but nothing working on it. But when I plug the vga in the mobo its working. Any suggestion what should I do?

Specs:
  • 4GB RAM
  • 500W chieftec power supply
  • Intel I5 2320
  • MOBO: Gigabyte GA-h61m-S1

I suspect the problem is the HDMI to VGA adapter. Since the card has no VGA (analog) output, you need to convert from digital to analog. Finding a decent active converter is tricky sometimes.

Btw, I'm assuming the (used?) card you bought actually works.

well, possibly the switcher is the problem, cuz my old graphics card has vga outpot on it. Well, my only choice is to buy a new monitor I guess. Thank you!
