As building my first pc I don't know which SSD is compatible with my motherboard the 970 Evo plus or the WD Blue SSD as they both have different pin arrangements cause I'm having trouble finding any info on this

hey. you have been confused between what is known as an m.2 ssd. an m.2 ssd is an ssd that slots directly into the motherboard kinda like how a graphics card would

the wd blue ssd is a normal 2.5" ssd that would connect via cable

. m.2 ssd's are faster and you will see improved boot times from it but is also more expensive. i hoped this helped, do some quick research on youtube to better understand what the difference between an m.2 ssd and a 2.5" ssd is =)

as i said, both of these ssd's are compatible with your motherboard see video above for installation

I more worried about the pin layout not whether it's m.2 or 2.5in.
My options are Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive or the Samsung 970 Evo 250 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive both have a different layout the wd blue is an M and B key whereas the Evo is only an M key
