Good Morning all,
Wanted to poll the community on an issue that I have never experienced in the 20+ years I have been building machines. My mother had a failure of her work machine so her boss asked if I could resurrect the old machine and build a new one. Put together a rather no frills Ryzen 7600 coupled with a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2. They also decided they wanted a new monitor which ended up being the Acer EB321HQU Cbidpx 31.5" 2K WQHD. Note that we are using the integrated Radeon graphics. So fine, no issues, built her up, posted and started the Windows install and started having random the monitor would just go black. Figured perhaps it was a driver type issue but was able to get up to desktop. From there, everything went a little crazy. Monitor display completely dropped out on HDMI connection but worked fine on display port. Decided to move the new machine over to my desktop setup and connect to my LG Oled via HDMI/Display port and it worked just fine no drop outs. I connected a laptop to the new monitor via HDMI and it worked just fine. My question I suppose has to do with a combination of the mobo and the processor. Is there a history of tempermental HDMI connectivity but display port is no effected? I would be inclined to say a defective monitor or board, but they work fine with different machines or monitors. Bit of a perplexing situation to me.
It is a new build, so I am on all the latest drivers and fully updated with Windows.
Thanks for any thoughts here.
