They're missing 4 GB, they should be at least 16GB. I know that perhaps not because CUDA isn't as cheap to use as OpenCL, and people buying gaming cards might not use CUDA or OPENCL, but I guess Video RAM is not something nVidia things you should use at home. A bit shocking considering that RTX can suck up so much RAM at 1440p which these cards are aimed at. About a year and some change from now I can see these cards topping RAM in gaming alone.

There are no RTX 30xx cards, never has been. Why should I believe that? I've never seen one and don't know anyone who has.
I was able to pick up a 3060ti at a simi local retailer. But you have to be persistent and willing to drive in my case.
Would much rather had a 3070 but I snagged what was available.
One store showed 2 3070 in stock that morning but is an 1 1/2 hours drive away.
A decent replacement for my aging Asus Dual 1070.

Fascinating information for the 3080ti, but I'll never buy Gigabyte again. Their support was horrible 10 years ago, and it's still horrible today. I took a chance and bought a higher end Gigabyte motherboard. They haven't updated any of their drivers, software packages, or even the BIOS since it's been released. Including no fixes for the vulnerabilities. Pretty bad for a $600+ motherboard. And they have never answered my many, many emails.

This is like saying that Ford shouldn't be allowed to release turbo charged versions of the V6 Mustang that have 250HP after releasing a naturally aspirated version of the V8 that only has 225HP. Manufacturers can improve or release new models anytime they want, and users shouldn't feel slighted by this unless they paid more for the product they bought than what they felt it was worth at the time, in which case, that's their own fault.

225 HP from a V8 is pathetically small. So I would argue anyone who bought the V8 with 225hp got screwed from the start and Ford was sandbagging on engine power. Which is the situation right now with Nvidia’s VRAM. People see cards like the 3080 with 10gb and it’s like seeing a V8 with 225hp. It’s an artificially low limit that speaks to design or marketing shortcuts.

You don't need 13 different variations on the same video card model. Simplify and cut those production times and costs, please. Manufacturers -- and consumers -- are way too caught up in the aesthetics of modern graphics cards.

Hopefully all this high-VRAM 3080 and 3060 news means a high-VRAM 3070 is right around the corner too. I'm not convinced my PSU can handle a 3080. I'm currently looking for an RX 6800 or 3070 Ti. Wonder which will actually be in stock to buy first.
