I recently bought my first gaming laptop -- a Gigabyte G5 KF -- and it's overheating quite badly. I've done the following things to make it run cooler:
But the CPU still reaches between 96-100 degrees celsius while playing any CPU-intensive game.
Things I cannot do: -
Is there anything else I can do? Is it possible that I got a faulty CPU?
- lifted it up
- turned off CPU boost clock
- set maximum processor state to 70%
- used maximum fan speed
- updated bios
- limited in game FPS to 60
But the CPU still reaches between 96-100 degrees celsius while playing any CPU-intensive game.
Things I cannot do: -
* use a cooling pad
* undervolt CPU
* change thermal paste/pad (without voiding the warranty)
