Hi,

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing some instability issues with this board Gigabyte GA-7VT600-P? I have had Folding@Home crash 3 times on this machine after running for a couple days (other machines configured differently run fine 24/7).

It has a Barton 2500 not Over Clocked, good Corsair Memory, adequate power supply, and an older 64MB grapchis card. Heat, voltages.. all look ok.

VIA chipset and the board's unstable? Wow, could be anything, could be everything.

Could even be Windows SP2!!!
I'll try a better PSU or upping the memory voltage a tad.

Two most common problems with via chipsets are 1- not compatable with soundblaster sound (except maybe integrated, depending on driver) 2- Most nic cards work best in the second from bottom pci slot. The 3rd most common problem is that the drivers you are using need to be updated.( I dont care if you just downloaded them, the next ones will fix the problem, they promise)

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your input. I will have a chance to try these suggestions over the holidays and continue to stress the outfit.

The Via KT600 also has a lot of memory issues. Check Gigabytes website for memory compatibility. Bios update might increase compatibility.
