Hello, it's my first post here and I came with a doubt, "regarding the possibility of overclocking an Intel I7 3770k on a Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2"
I was once told that on some motherboards, they can even support it as I've seen myself:

but do not support overclocking.
well, i never found anything on the internet about it, i would like a list of motherboards that support the overclocking of K series processors.
And even if my motherboard doesn't support it, I don't think I have any problems putting an I7 3770k, even if I don't use overclocking, it's better than the non-K version:

I7 3770 = 3.40 Ghz
I7 3770k = 3.50 Ghz

Solution
you mean any motherboard that start with " Z " ?
like: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z77X-UD3H-rev-12#ov
Correct. For your CPU you would need a Z77 motherboard to overclock your CPU.

That being said if you want to get a New motherboard, you are looking at $240+ for the motherboard. https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007627 600311010 4814&Order=PRICE Granted you can get refurbished or used starting around $100. However, you are going to be trying to upgrade a platform that is old and has no upgrade path. A stock 3770k & Ryzen 5 1400 have almost identical performance. https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2356?vs=2365 Overall you would be better off putting the money for that new motherboard into...
