Having just installed my first 900 Athlon, I am seeking some advice.
I am current running at 933 (133 x 7 ) on an Abit KT7A with a FOP 38. Temperature-wise, I idle at 29-31 C and seem to peak around 39-41 C when gaming according to VIA's hardware monitor software. Incidently - is there a better way of monitoring temperature whilst in the middle of gaming ?
Is there more to come from my 900 ? The hardware monitor has an upper temperature alarm set as 50 C. I am not sure whether I am close enough to this limit to not risk anything more.
Secondly, I did try lifting the multiplier to 7.5 to get 1000mhz, but the Sandra software says I am always running at 933. Does this mean I did not close the L1 bridges properly - wonder if I was too cautious for my own good - I am reluctant to take the FOP off unless there are significant gains to be had.
thanks,
Skirmy
ps. I was really nervous about the whole affair of putting on the heatsink and setting up the bios etc, but is was quite straight forward in the end, only because of the good advice I have received in this forum. A big thank you to everyone concerned.
