Attack on Titan is pretttyyy awesome. It's on both Hulu as well as crunchyroll. The last anime I watched before this was .. DBZ & Pokemon in elementary school. I'm now 25. haha

It's awesome though! Def check it out!

i've watched a little of attack on titan. honestly not really my cup of tea. it seems to be rather popular though.

crunchyroll does have a decent selection. there are most likely some other shows on there you will like as well.

The only problem with Anime that makes it hard for me is I work full time and have 15 credit hours. I really enjoy watching Netflix while I do homework because if I do straight homework I'll grab a gun and kill myself. Most anime has subtitles and so it's basically impossible to multitask.

That's too bad you weren't a fan of Attack on Titan. How far did you get? By ep 20 it's pretty intense.

If you know any good ones without subtitles and the English dub isn't going to make me want to shoot myself anyways, then I'm definitely open to suggestion :)

@jp

actually there is a huge amount which is professionally english dubbed and sold in the states.

crunchyroll for the most part is all english subtitles because they take the original from japan and sub it.

no... i didnt type that all out for you... i actually just sent an email a month or so ago where someone i know asked me for titles to watch :)

if you want to know the series i'm currently following...

fairy tail (i get this on dvd)
naruto shippuden (i watch the new episode every thursday just after it airs in japan)
bleach (waiting for the new season to start)
evangelion (waiting on 3.33 and 4.44 to come out)
berserk egg of the king (remakes... i get this on dvd)

i'm also casually following...
rurouni kenshin (the new remake)
eden of the east
qwaser no stigmata
inuyasha final act (the new remakes)

crunchyroll is almost exclusively subtitled. the reason i like it is that it is easy to browe and that i can watch the newest episodes of naruto shippuden on thursday just hours after release in japan.

where have i watched most of these shows?

the bottom four shelves....

30tkolg.jpg

no...those are not anime figurines in my curio and no i'm a nerd. or perhaps that was sarcasm.

for anything that is not in my collection...

crunchyroll (for new stuff before it gets dubbed)
netflix (i subscribe on and off....sometimes i rewatch some old episodes on here. not a big selection though)

then there are the hordes of streaming websites. i listed a few i've used more frequently.. but there are others around. you may have to look around since not every website has every show.

if its a good anime i suggest buying the dvd to support the studio. its what i do. well that and i'm obsessed with owning a copy.

animestatic.tv (i normally use this one)
animeram.com
animeget.com

Anyone here watching Attack on Titan?
Another messed up one is Schools days.
I started reading the High School of the Dead manga now and it seems pretty good.

Haha I mentioned Attack on Titan a few-ish posts ago. Yeah I love it. Hate how it's 24 minutes long and they waste the first 4-5 with a recap and then credits. Shows should cut out all credits after the 10th episode. Such a waste.

the shows have openings and credits because they air on television.

just be lucky you are not watching a show like naruto which is 15 minutes recap, 10 minutes show and 5 minutes credits. or at least i've seen episodes almost that bad!

some box sets have a feature to play in marathon mode (i know dbz had this) which skips openings and credits.

I understand why they have them lol. The issue isn't the purpose, it's the necessity. They should at least cut back on the credits.

Off topic but like Game of Thrones - waaayyy too long.

i hate it as much as you do. at least on the dvds there is a skip function.

never watched game of thrones.

just watched strain on animestatic the other day... if you havent seen it then you need to watch as its pretty darn good.

on a non anime subject... the movie solomon kane was actually quite good as well on netflix.

@moeid97

the same could be said about any interest people have.

i could say why do you not like it? or why do you like cheese?

but i'll bite... and give a few reasons why i watch it

-the concepts and storylines are more interesting than regular movies or tv series. (most rely on special effects not story)
-it is not reality tv (honestly how someone could watch this is beyond me)
-it is cheaper to buy anime seasons then normal movies (though around the same price as normal series)
-i'm a fan of manga art & anime drawing style. this is more adult oriented than cartoons. they are not the same. think of it like "a scanner darkly" or "ironman extremis" which arent kids shows.
-anime tends to have long lasting seasons so you get to follow the characters as the story progresses. this doesnt happen in movies as sequels normally suck. this can happen in tv shows although there are only a few good ones worth watching.

generally the reason is because we like it. its not something easy to quantify just as someone may find it hard to say why they like the color blue.

i do watch normal television and normal movies as well but i only watch things that are actually interesting. i refuse to watch garbage shows.

1.Bkz everthing is not film's graphical quality nor special effects!
A good story is much more important.(e.g: deathnote's mystery and storyline is much more stronger and much more complicated than Prison Break! ------> in my idea of course :)
2.besides anime series are shorter
(~>20 min) so ppl with little time can enjoy them too
3.there are many anime series for diffrent likings
4.Ask an anime pro for more :D

Yeah, i didn't enjoy the movive that much, too
the only good thing about the movie was, its better ending
i was depressed for a couple of days when U know Who(im just trying too keep the storyline a secret!) died :)

honestly not many anime move me. one that did was shonen onmyouji. you get attached to the subcharacter mokun.

its very hard to find physical copies of (well the later disks anyways) and its rather expensive as well. you can find it online to stream but i dont condone viewing it in that manner and wont provide links. its a very good watch though if you like good story and shonen (action) anime.
