Hi there,
i saved up some money to by myself a workstation. Ok actually i don't intend to buy specialised
hardware but go with the regular consumers series. I intend to buy an Intel i() and an
nvidia gtx ( ). So here's the question. Is now a good time to buy this kind of hardware? What i mean by this is, the moment in reference to the generational cycle of these. If it's not why and when do you assume will there be the next good moment.
Sorry if my english is a little edgy, not a native speaker.

You'll want a Quadro capable of 10-bit color, and those are very stable in price. For audio, you'll need a separate DAC and keyboard (piano, not your computer keyboard, mind you); best place to find information for the best studio gear is on /r/headphones.

This build is over the top but for sure eliminates a lot of noise for DAW:

meterscale photoshop @300dpi (art purposes)
DAW (probably ableton and i'd like to learn more about max/msp) (i think i start with an external audio interface?)
video after effects premiere
some 3D animation stuff (i started with some tutorial stuff and it's something i want to learn more about but it was just so annoying to
do it on my laptop. i guess thats where gpu comes in for viewport rendering
so i think it would be reasonable to go for as much cpu power as a priority

So there is a new architecture coming out in the realm of intel cpus?
Is there a common sense of expectation how these are going to work out? In terms of performance and pricing. How long does it take till the prices of these card normalize (i guess that they are going to be a little overpriced at the release?)
