So main use will be gaming, with eventually a pg42u, but current use is just 1440p

This is a preliminary parts list ive come up with but a few things im not all that sure about. like m.2s, i havent built a system with one so im having trouble decyphering speeds and slots (seems cpu dependent on MOBO?)

Gigabyte 4090 OC
asus Strix Z690-e
Corsair Dominator 32GB 6200 MHz
Samsung 980 Pro 2TB? I havent looked at m.2 much, its hard to decypher what speed the mobo supports and even what speed this SSD is.
need help with: Intel gen 12 or 13?
PSU
Case...thinking 011 dynamic but itll be air cooled aside from a CPU AIO, i would maybe like to water cool the 4090 in the future but ive never done a custom loop so i have anxiety about doing it
Is there a better SSD for the price/performance? I have other hard drives that will be used too, 2 other SSDs and platter drives for plex/music data

I mean you’ve already got it now, 4090 is kind of a waste and very poor value at 1440p, it’s a 4k card. It will do great though.

Get a 13700k or 7700x
PSU I’d get a solid 1200/1300w gold unit EVGA/Corsair/Superflower/Seasonic
O11 is a horrible case for a 4090, you want a wide case with space between the Gpu and glass

yeah im aware the 4090 is more for 4k, Ill be getting the 42" 4k monitor sometime early next year so it wont be a long gap. I also just went all in because my existing system is still on a 1080 so i skipped a couple gens and decided to just go for the top now. What kind of case would you recommend?

Regarding SSD, u would be fine if u get a pcie gen 4/5 m.2 which supports direct storage.

The above mentioned SK hynix P41 is a great choice.

Look at the PSU tier list and get a 1000W tier 1/ tier 2 psu with official support for RTX 4XXX series.

Is there an advantage to the hynix P41 over the samsung i linked? Im trying to get as much as i can from the bestbuy site for its no interest financing as i can and the samsung seemed like the best choice there but then again like i said im not that knowledgeable on m.2 drives and tech
