Got a new 660 and now the computer makes a noise and shuts down

My computer makes a crackling or popping noise and then shuts down whenever i start up battlefield 3 after installing my new GTX 660. Anyone know what might be going on?

What brand & how many watts is your PSU?

Replace with a new one that is of higher quality and provides the amount of power that it states it can.

Look for a Corsair, Seasonic, Antec, or XFX unit in the 500-550w range. Notable mentions include some Rosewill, OCZ, and select other makers units.

The rosewill is far better and I would get that if you only had these two options. Fortunately, you have more.

Wow. Thank you for all the reccomendations and the help. I saw on the card that it requires a 450 watt minimum and 24 amps on the +12 volt rail. What does that last part mean exactly?
