Hey there, Sorry i dont speak english normaly. so i have a 1 year old gaming pc, and im having serious problems with my gpu (Asus geforce 980 Strix). So i was playing and then both screen turned black. i restarted only to find a black screen again. So when it finally came on it was on low resolution on my main screen. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it. It worked. Next day the same thing happened and did the same thing. But it didnt work. And then i finally got it to work just by doing something random in the BIOS. I found out the gpu had overheated. and now it happens 5 times a week. i have underclocked it with afterburner and monitors the heat at all times. I could use some help. The GPU still works. Sometimes and im almost depressed about it. Thanks for reading

Make sure you have enough case fans installed. Also turn the fans in the settings to manual so they are constantly cooling the video card

I have a Corsair CX650M as PSU My cpu is a Intel i5 6600k and gpu is Asus geforce 980 strix

No, i use(d) Display port. My pc has now died anyway, The fans dont turn on, i can hear my hdd start tho, But still no picture on the monitor

This helped with another user a few days ago, Try enabling some power saving modes and see if the screen will go black after a while

If the GPU is not posting. Remove the GPU from the system (turn off PSU, remove socks and touch case before touching any componets do to static shock) The i5 6600k has its own graphics so after removing the card. Connect display cable to motherboard to monitor and test the system and make sure black screen errors are not from any other component

Already done it

If you have more than one ram module, remove them and try them one at a time and see if you come across a defective ram module

The screen is back up without the graphics card, YAY! What next

Does the black screen problems stuff occur?
If so is your GPU currently up to date?

Well its without the GPU, And the black screen dosent occur without the GPU. So the GPU is The madman
and i always update the gpu, but it is really slow, if i pop the GPU back in the screen doesnt turn on tho.
