I have a bit of a problem. My GPU never goes under 40 degrees, even when it's idle. I have tried to set the fan speed to the max and let it run for a while, but it's still 40 degrees or over. Is this a bad thing? When I play games it's very rare that it gets up to 80 °C, so that isn't rally an issue. On other PC's that I have seen, the idle temperature for the GPU is much lower.

So my question is:

Is it bad that my GPU runs at this temperature even when it's idle, and if I can fix it, how?

I have a Aorus gtx 1060 6gb graphics card

Edit:

My CPU does the same thing

This is relatively normal as your GPU will often run warmer than your CPU. Also, it is impossible for your GPU to be at room temperature, even at 'idle' because there is power and processing taking place, even when the system reports the GPU as 0% utilization...it is still being used. There will always be a temperature delta of any air or liquid cooled component in relation to degrees above ambient room temperature.
