Discussion Gpu fan decreases to 65% while set to 100%

My graphics card is a VTX3D HD6870 V2. Usually I manually set the fan speed to 100%. When I launch a game like Dead by Daylight, midway through the game the graphics card's fan slows down to 65% speed and the catalyst control center stops responding. This has caused the card to overheat once already and i need this resolved. Please help.

I tried both the beta and the stable drivers from Amd's website. Still the same issue.

while gaming and the fans on 65%

Around 90-100 degrees celcius. The thermal paste is probably starting to dry. (i ordered some but it hasn't arrived yet)

maybe the fans are dying but if you tried to replace them it would be hard to find them

try cleaning the card by taking off the heatsink and the fans and cleaning them with air maybe they are clogged
