gpu lock doesn't want to unlock

hello i have a problem, so my new graphics card just arrived today and i couldn't get the gpu lock to unlock. i've already searched on google and nothing works, i asked here so if someone could help me

Looks to me like you are pushing the lock the wrong direction. The way you are pushing it would press the lock tab further in, not release it.

I would try pushing the tab towards the card, not away from it.

Or rather, if the top of the case is north, then push the lock arm south while lightly rocking the card front to back and pulling up.

In the video, the lock doesn't even appear to reengage after you release it. You're going to have to perform a more careful inspection of the PC to determine what is causing the old GPU to remain stuck.

It may be a silly question, but have you disconnected all of the cables attached to the old GPU?

That is simply a plastic tab lock. You were pushing it correctly in the first place. It can be seen in the video that it is not even engaged when you have your finger on it. It's not what is preventing you from removing the old GPU from the system, if that's the issue you came here to resolve.

I had the same type of lock in a LGA 775 system, you need to pull it away to unlock the GPU. You almost have to pull it so far away that it almost feels like your going to break it but it will be fine.

What motherboard do you have? Do you have another pcie slot with the same locking mechanism to look at?

Yeah, you're right. Looking more closely those are not levered style locks. They do pull away from the card to disengage and I agree that often you have to pull them really far to get them out. The lock can be more clearly seen here.

Hopefully the fact that you selected an answer means you got the card out.
