Hi everyone, I've bought an used EVGA RTX 3060 12GB graphics card to replace my old Aorus GTX 1060 6GB (since I wanted a good but not huge upgrade in performance). The issue is that it is not working at all on my system. I've plugged it to the PCIe connector (I should mention the motherboard has a PCIe 3.0 slot and the card is a 4.0 PCIe, but I do not think this might be an issue other than limiting the card's performance) and to the 8pin cable, but when turning the system on it gives no signal to the monitor (I am using an HDMI cable) and the fans do not start, there is no light, nothing. I've tried putting back my old card and it works perfectly, so I suspect the RTX 3060 might be faulty.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: MSI H110M Pro VH
Processor: Intel i7-7700k 4.2GHz
PSU: EVGA GQ 80+ Gold 650W
RAM: 2x8GB Crucial DDR4 2400 MHz
Storage: 1x960 SSD, 1x240 SSD and 1x1TB HDD

What do you think? For what I've read, the only issue of using a PCIe 4.0 card on a PCIe 3.0 system is card performance, but it should work anyway (given the card is not faulty)...

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

PSU: EVGA GQ 80+ Gold 650W
How old is the PSU in your build?

BIOS version for your motherboard? The PCIe slot on your board will work with the card, the card will operate at PCIe 3.0 speeds.

Thanks for the reply.

PSU is almost 5 years old.

BIOS version is 7996v2H, release date 06/26/2018 (latest on MSI website).
