Some bits don't come across clearly. Why are you looking in Task Manager to find your HDD? And it also sounds like you're looking for your graphics card in Task Manger too; Device Manager would be a better place to see hardware.

As for the displayport cable, make sure you identify the correct port on the graphics card and have the cable the right way round so it fits. It sounds like you're using the integrated graphics of the i5-9600k at the moment if you can't connect your graphics card to the display, and in those circumstances the graphics card probably wouldn't be working.

i searched for it in the device manager and it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" Is there a fix to this.

Usually indicates a driver issue, though could be hardware too. What are your system specs?

when i go to update drivers it says it's up to date
could it be my cables because im using silverstone pcie 6+2 cables on an rm850x because the person i bought it from diddnt supply the cables.
if so is there anywhere i can buy cheap cables for my rm 850x?

Ah... you shouldn't mix and match PSU cables as it can be dangerous. As it is it could be a power delivery issue.

I would guess either Corsair, if they have any to sell, or perhaps even those like Cablemod who make those custom sleeved ones for PSUs to be on the safe side.

i used cables from my cx550 and i have the same issue. im not sure weather its a power delivery however consider the fact i've used two different cables i'm not sure weather that now the issue. im pretty sure its a hardware issue?
