Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I hope that this question is in the right area. Anyways, I have recently put together a gaming build as a first timer and I had a couple of questions. It seems my motherboard is powered correctly with a 430W Corsair PSU because all the fans are spinning and the MoBo light is green, I have everything wired correctly but whenever I try to use a DVI/VGA/HDMI connecting my graphics card (MSI R7 260x) to my monitor (Asus VE228H), it shows "no VGA found" or "no DVI found".

Specs:
cpu: fx 4300
cooler: evo 212
ram 1x4 ballistix
psu: 430w corsair
gpu: msi r7 260x 2gb
motherboard: asus m5a97 r2.0

Did you remember to plug in the 6 pin connector to power the card? Did you remember to move your monitor's cable from the on-board video to the new card? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but we have to start with the basics.
What are you connecting to the monitor with, HDMI, DVI, VGA? And is the monitor switched to receive that signal?

These actually aren't dumb questions to me lol, and I'm not sure what you mean about moving the monitors cable from the on-board video to the new card, and I have tried connecting it with VGA and DVI.

Never mind. I just realized that the motherboard you have does not have on-board video. So, that wouldn't pertain to you anyway.
But if you've performed the other checks and still no joy, I would have to assume the either the board or the gfx card is defective. If you have access to another card, try it.

But if you are only using one stick of RAM, be sure it is in DIMM slot A2. That is the slot the manual says to use if only one slot is populated.

I just changed the RAM slot to DIMM A2 and nothing really changed, and I don't have another video card to work with.

I already sent in the RMA for my Mobo and GPU just to make sure, thanks anyways though man! :)
