GPU Temperarute monitoring from the system tray

Hello, i've been searching the forums for a while and haven't found a recent answer, and old answers don't solve my issue: I want to be able to monitor my GPU temperature from the system tray, á-lá RealTemp with nvidia video cards. I'm currently using a XFX Radeon 4770 512MB video card. Even tho i know that i can see the gpu usage, fan speed % and gpu temperature in the driver and using GPU-Z, i'd like to find a tool that can display it in the system tray, just like so many apps display the core CPU temperatures and realtemp displays both that and the GPU temperatures of a nvidia 9600GT (XFX 9600GT 512MB). The idea is not logging to a file, for that i've seen how it's done. But i want to be able to see it while i play in windowed mode.

Anyone have any idea how to do that with ATi cards or what app does it? i tried rivatuner (didn't see how to make it work if it does) atitool, ati tray tool, realtemp, coretemp, hwmonitor (logs but doesn't put a system tray icon) as well as gpu-z and cpu-z (cpu-z feels buggy as of late)

Try Everest Ultimate. The licensed version will display info for all of system sensors - CPU, motherboard, fans, hard disk, GPU, etc. Though, I believe it won't display GPU fan speed... Just fans on the CPU/motherboard.

Hey, I tried out everest, but it won't display my GPU temperatures (requires me to buy the software for them to display). Any idea if there is any free app besides the driver that does this? Like, if an app requires you to uninstall the Catalyst Control Center for it to work or stuff like that? 'Cause it just sucks that NVcards have like thousands of free apps and AMD cards require you to buy stuff to do the same basic thing >.<

Any thoughts anyone?

MSI Afterburner will do what you ask, under monitoring, select what you want displayed.
Then in lower check boxes, check where you want it displayed. I have OSD and Task checked for fps, gpu temp, and % fan

As I said, the licensed version will do it all...

eVGA's Precision will display the GPU temp, as well as allow you to very simply control it's clock and fan speeds. You have to register as a user on eVGA's site to download it, though. No big deal... You get a crappy newsletter every month or so, but no BS spam.

hey thanks for the replies i've read a lot about the MSI afterburner software but i havent given it a shot, since i'm not using any msi hardware currently (vcard is xfx and mobo is Asus) about eVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner, can i use them even without using their hardware? i mean, are they not hw specific?

Precision works with any nVidia video card, and Afterburner with ATI and nVidia. Neither is brand-specific.
