I am trying to get help figuring out what I need to upgrade my GPU so that its no staying in low FPs and overheating. I recently had issues with Star Wars The Old Republic becoming too graphic heavy after the latest patches, and other newer games are also causing lags. I only recently (March 2016) have had issues where I cannot run on highest and must now run on lowest settings with severe gaming issues. I have cleaned my rig out and move it onto a new desk where I don't have to worry about the vents getting blocked between cleanings.
Basically, do I need to get a new Power Unit? What kind? And what cards would be beneficial in the Medium-High that would work on this rig?
I have a HP Pavilion p7-1225 Desktop PC, running an AMD Radeon HD 6550D Card.
