Would I get more performance out of a single GTX 880m 8GB or Dual 870m's 6 GB in SLI?

Dual GTX 870Ms in SLI will give you more performance than a single GTX 880M. But the dual GTX 870Ms will give out more heat than the single GTX 880M. SLI is not always stable, and not all games support multi-GPU. I'd go with the single 880M if I were you.
