I recently ordered a MSI H310M PRO-VDH PLUS motherboard, as well as a Gtx 1070. When I tried slotting the gpu into the motherboard however, the long silver thing at the end of the gpu got in the way of me putting it in. Is there a way to fix this or will I have to get another gpu to fit in the motherboard? And if I have to get a new Gpu, which one should I get?

the long silver thing at the end<<<<do you mean the silver metal piece that you see from the outside of the PC when the card is installed?

If so.....I find it very common that these don't always fit right.

Sometimes I even need to do a little grinding with a dremel tool.

Sometimes I have to play around with the orientation of the card.

My point is.....sometimes I have to do a lot of jerking around to get that piece to fit.

Maybe you can somehow get it to fit. Just be careful and don't put too much pressure on anything.

OK, PC building lever-2, you must be able to make adjustments.

Sometimes these things don't fit exactly, PC parts are not Swiss-precision am afraid. Insert GPU into PCIe slot, and if rear bracket don't exactly match up the rear slot of the case, u can bend the bracket a little to fit. If it's really badly mis-aligned, and this also happens with the other PCIe cards u may have to pull out the screwdriver and adjust the case's rear panel, the whole panel assumed it's screwed on and not welded shut.
