Gt 520 Upgrade Advice

First post, usually run across the site through searches, looking for some options.

I'm currently running an HP with a 300 watt psu and at gt 520. All the other specs are fine for what im doing, but the 520 is terrible and the power supply is obviously going to need to be replaced with the card.

I was thinking a GTX 460 1GB card, which in general gets more favorable reviews compared to 550 ti. Right now I found a gtx 460 from MSI for 140 bucks, 100 after rebate: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1781467&CatId=3669

I'm a bit worried about the dual slot fitting.

And for applications, I play a few games here and there, namely "Pro Cycling Manager" http://www.cycling-manager.com/pcm/index.php?rub=home . After the new card I'll be getting Starcraft 2 as well.

So basically what I'm looking for is a power supply recommendation, and conformation that the 460 is the best nvidia card for the money (I want the cuda for some science and architecture programs so no Radeon please.)

Radeon HD 7750 - This is the fastest card that will run on your 300W PSU.

Nice choice, GTX 460 is a very nice card. The best fit for a power supply with it would be Corsair CX 500:

It has 80+ certification, comes from a quality brand and is pretty cheap for such quality.

Would the added expense of the new psu and the 460 be worth the money over the 7750? I can get a 7750 for around 100 bucks. The 460 route will cost easy 160 with rebates.

Please look at Pro Cycling Manage and decide if its graphics heavy enough to require the 460.

The game seems to be very weak graphically and even HD 7750 will be able to max it out.

GTX 460 is on average around 36% faster than HD 7750. So it will help you in starcraft 2, but not Pro Cycling Manager. Also, didn't you want CUDA?
