Question Gtx 1060 fans turning on and off. Second fan loose and squeaking.

Sorry in advance to those who had already read this as it was a thread related to my cpu cooler, as I thought that was the issue. But then I looked under my gpu to discover a loose fan. So now my question is: Is there a way to turn off the fans for the meanwhile? They are turning on and off and making a chirping sound due to the loose fan.
I can't change the tags in the thread or even delete it for some reason. So sorry for any confusion.

Make and model of your motherboard and it's BIOS version?

Since this pc is from mid-2018, I don't know if I should change the cooler, or make a deep clean on the heatsink.
Perhaps remove the existing thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol and then try and replace the thermal paste with something higher in quality. While you've taken the cooler off, you can take this is an opportunity to deep clean the cooler and the surrounding VRM area of your motherboard if it was untouched since 2018.

What sort of ambient room temps are you seeing? Make and model of your case? Number of fans in said case and their orientation? Make and model of case fans would help us two fold.

What do you mean by "loose" fan? How can a fan be loose?

Theoretically you could disconnect fan cable. That would disable the fan (or all gpu fans).

Thank you for the quick reply! It appeared to be loose at first, because it's wobbling slightly. Also, I noticed the Gigabyte Xtreme Engine, which is the gpu software, is not detecting the gpu. The card still works fine, though (except for the second fan).
I will try unplugging the fans to see if that works. I tried spinning the fans manually with the pc off, and the bad one seems to be stuck. I don't see dust or anything clogging it up, though.

By the way, would I have to open the gpu in order to unplug the fans? Or is that header plugged into the mobo itself?

Depends on specific gpu manufacturer/model.
It may be necessary to disassemble/remove cooling from graphics card to get access to fan cables.

The fan has died completely now, so no more noise or shaking, thankfully. It seems the left fan is working double time to compensate, but temps are normal even during gaming. I will see if I can find a replacement for the fan, but I was thinking of getting a new gpu altogether. Thanks again!
