GTX 1080 ti in 1080p

Solution

I just did, please check my previous post.

As long as you can fit it in your budget, the EVGA Supernova G2 is a solid choice:

there is no way to future proof anything, by the time the 1080ti is out it would probably by it not working with the newest dx and not from it being not powerful enough to play the games

But you're basically wasting your money if you're running on a lower resolution than it's meant to be for the graphics card. We're suggesting for your good.

Should i buy a 1070 now and sell it and buy a 1080 when/if i have a better monitor? Im not really planning on upgrading again in the next 2 years so if im wasting a bit of money today atleast it last atleast a bit

That's pretty stupid, but I think the people are talking about bottlenecks but they probably wouldn't occur taking the 1080 ti is a 4k GPU and increasing the resolution all the way up to 4k would reduce bottlenecks by a great distance.

Yes you can go with a 1070 now as long as you can upgrade soon. But make sure to get a 1440p 144hz monitor for the 1080.

Well i'm definitely not getting a 4k monitor, 1440p sounds good though. Currently i am thinking about these items:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: GeIL EVO X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
650 watt psu (wich should be fine for the 1080 ti incase i go with it?)or this psu: Corsair Professional Series AX 850 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (AX850)

Another question i have is do i need an ssd? I'm not sure just what it does.

That CPU won't bottleneck the Ryzen 5 1600 so you're good with that.
1440p will be great on a GTX 1070.
No you don't need a bigger power supply, 650w will be more than enough for a 1080 ti.
And if you can fit an SSD in your budget then definitely, HDD + SSD are a great pair.
Usually SSDs are used to store operating system and a few games to improve boot and loading times.

Should i think about an i7 770k over the ryzen 5 1600? is the extra 100$ worth it and will it last me? Could you recommend a sort of budget ssd and an hdd?

Nope the extra 100$ isn't worth it, you'll have to spend an extra on a Z270 motherboard and an aftermarket cooler. The Ryzen 1600 also takes advantage because of it's extra 2 cores.
Games just need to be optimized more for Ryzen processors.

Go for this pair:

Also there are a lot of power supplies to choose from. Do i take any 650W psu with 80+bronze/gold for example the EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply?

Solution

I made a mistake by showing that psu. I ment this one because of the extra 100 watts: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

That's also a solid power supply. But 550w will be enough, even if you upgrade to a 1080 ti.
