Hello,

I just bought a used 1660 and it seems to be underperforming a lot. I had a r9 280X and it performed better than this 1660, which shouldn't be the case. GTA Online ran at about 30-40 fps on max settings 1080p and i got a Heaven Benchmark score of 1663. These are with a overclock of +120 on the core and +400 on the memory.

My specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 AF

MOBO: Asus Steel Legend B450M

GPU: MSI GTX 1660 Armor OC

RAM: 1x 8Gb Vengeance LPX (clocked at 3200 mhz)

PSU: Corsair VS550

Storage: 128Gb M.2 SSD and 1Tb Hard Drive

You have to DDU both AMD and nVidia drivers so you run it twice. Then make sure you have both power connected to video card on first slot then install the latest GeForce drivers and let me know. :cautious:

Your system is being crippled by single channel RAM. I cannot explain why the 280x performed better but you will be limited by your RAM.
So I just bought more RAM and the performance did increase to about 60-70fps, but this still isn't really the expected performance from a 1660. Btw this is on normal settings, so it should be a lot higher.

Sometimes a bad BIOS can cause weird performance issues...Happened to me with a 2070 Super who performed extremely bad.

Since the basic troubleshooting didn't work for you, reset CMOS...This will undo any setting you may changed through BIOS,including XMP,so don't forget to enable it again.

If nothing change after the reset, update the BIOS.
If it's updated to the most recent version, try some previous versions.
