The 6870 is more powerful, even on games that favor nvidia. Probably the 6870.....however, if Nvidia has the better drivers, perhaps the 460.

You cannot even compare these 2. 6870 is ~20% faster than a 460, while consuming same amount of power. 500W PSU should be enough, but make sure you get a good one *like Corsair, Antec etc.*

Well it's something like in that order. Depends on were you buy from, but XFX has lifetime warrenty in the USA i believe.

should actually compare gtx560ti with 6870. and then u should choose gtx560ti if u love physx else 6870 is the ultimate choice. (i have a 560ti btw and i faced the same decision question)

No, you compare the HD 6870 with the GTX 560.
You compare the HD 6950 with the GTX 560 Ti.

^No, you can compare 6870 with 560Ti and non-Ti. You can also compare 6950 with the 560Ti and 570. Why? Performance difference between them is around 10%.

OP: Mostly all brands are good, just pick the one you like the most.

I think the 6870 is your best option considering it does better than the 460. But its not but much maybe a 5 - 10 % performance increase nothing massive. It basically comes down to which do you prefer; Nvidia; or ATI?
