Does anyone know the maximum temp for the GeForce GTX 470 (GF100)?

I wouldn't let it get above 95c, but thats just me. If you're staying in the low 90's you shouldn't worry.

Mine idles @ 38c and max load is around 51c
so i have some room to play w/

My reference MSI GTX 470 hits 94/95C running the Furmark benchmark.

I just tore it apart and put better thermal compound on it and didn't honestly see any difference. 🙁 Idles around 51-56C.

I'm honestly waiting for Zalman to actually release (NewEgg.com to have in stock basically) the VF3000F

That Zotac AMP! card comes with the Zalman 3000 cooler. It's definitely one of the better coolers for that card, but actually takes up three slots, so yeah no SLI.

what do you run the fan at?
mine idles 40c at 60% and 72 at full load with 75%

according to GPU_Z, the fan speed is @ 40% idle and goes up to 42% under load.

That's too bad. Cause I'd love to SLI my GTX 470 someday when the cards are cheaper!!

Maybe that Gelid ICY is an option. 🙁 Was thinking it to be too little temp change when compared to the Zalman 3000F.

Even with a single card, I'm using a GTX 260 for PhysX, so I couldn't do that either with the Zalman I guess.

Don't forget to check out the Thermalright Spitfire. It's a bit unconventional, but seems to work well with GTX470/480:

i prob. could fit another card in for PhysX...
but i'd have to get rid of my tv tuner card, and prob. my internal WiFi card to do so.

But i'm just happy w/ my card as is for right now.
I'd need to upgrade my CPU to have any benefit from SLI

Use MSI afterburner and make a fan profile
I 've made a profile starting from 58%(very quite) up to 82%(noisy)
Idel temp is around 47 and with loading 74 .

from the Nvidia.com it says that GTX 470 may go on to 105c max temp
