Gtx 560 vs 560 ti

Hello,
im have a 480gtx as my primary card i am looking for a new physx card 560ti is £20.00 more than a standard 560gtx is it worth the extra for physx performance alone as the 480 does graphics

GTX 560 (non Ti) should be easily enough, even GTX 460 would be if you could find one cheap.

the main diff between the 560 and 560 ti is basicaly the single vs dual fan design, the dual fan does look allot better, performance wise should be 2% increase from 560 to 560ti

Check.your sources before giving incorrect info.
With that said a gtx 460 should be enough for physx. Theres really no.need to run a ti as a physx card unless you already had one left from an upgrade

I recommend the GTX560Ti over the GTX560. The HD7950 is an awesome card, but currently expensive.

Quite frankly a GTX560Ti runs really great for most games.

Many games can use the extra power, and the new 7000 cards use the new die shrink for lower power consumption. Idle power is also quite amazing. http://www.theverge.com/2012/1/31/2760665/review-roundup-HD-7950-AMD

I don't recommend PhysX unless you can run the game at 60FPS VSYNC'd. PhysX can easily drop your FPS by 30% for a small amount of eye candy. I'd much rather have better framerates and smoother game play.

There are also other quality settings such as Anti-Aliasing etc that have to be lowered so you can get acceptable frame rates with PhysX enabled.

(FYI, using your GTX460 as a PhysX addin card is unlikely to work as expected. I saw a lengthy test of this and the results were very surprising. It' probable a GTX560Ti + GTX460 solely for PhysX would produce WORSE results than just the GTX560Ti alone.)

*The best value really is the GTX560Ti.
Get a nice dual-fan solution, but don't waste money on overclocked versions or the ones with more cores. This is a Canada link to my recommended card:

OP: Please don't waste your money on such expensive hardware just for a little more FPS in PhysX games. At the absolute most you need a GTS 250 or 450. I spent $65 on a GT 240 and it runs PhysX like a boss.

Ive heard of people running the 9800 for physx but not the 240,that would give enough?

Well I'm running Batman Arkham City maxed out with High PhysX with Crossfire 5850s and a GT 240 on a 4x lane. Yes, it's enough.

A GTS 250 would remove any potential bottlenecks.

But, yeah, I've played both Batman games, Mafia 2, Cryostasis, Metro 2033, Mirror's Edge, and a little Dark Void without any issues.
