Gtx 580 hdmi port

I have Samsung T27A950 monitor and GTX 580.. I could not get 120Hz. I connect each other: GTX580>Mini HDMI to HDMI cable>HDMI cable> Monitor... And one more question: what does it means: HDMI(DVI), HDMI(ARC)?
