Sindacco I almost answered a post you submitted earlier - I thought again because of you rude behavior. I see you reinforced my position. - What comes around goes around. The system any of our members have does not necessarily correlate to the amount of knowledge/judgement they have. For the OP - a GTX680 completely blows a GTX580 away in every category except compute power.

Wait. Are you considering two GTX 580 vs single GTX 680?

If you're asking which card is better, the 680 is almost 50% better performance wise across the board versus the 580.

If you're asking if getting a second 580 or a single 680 is better, definitely go for a second GTX 580. 580 SLI trounces a single GTX 680 and since the 580 is slightly cheaper (not by much though) it doesn't make any sense to go for a single 680 right now if you already have a 580 and an SLI capable motherboard.

i just came upon this forumm but my questions has alot to so with the op's question. i was thinking about getting 2 more gtx-580s for a tri-sli or just sell my one 580 and buy 2 gtx 680 any oppinions?

You should create your own thread. However, I think that 2 GTX 680 > 3 GTX 580.
