GTX 580 Which one?

Hello guys!

I know there is already some post about it, I read them but I am not entirely satisfied therefore I would like to open mine!

First thanks a lot for your time!

Second here are my constraints :

- I want to buy from www.amazon.fr or www.pixmania.be.
- I don't want to spend more than 500 euros.
- I don't want two graphic cards (no SLI/crossfire)
- I want to play at max .
- I don't want to do overclocking
- I want a card that is well cooled! (very important for me)
- Maybe two screens in the future
- PSU : Corsair - TX V2 Series - Alimentation pour PC - ATX - 750 W
- I want good customer support in case of problem.

Here are the graphic cards I have selected could you help me choose between those? I am open to other cards in the same range but they have to be available on the two web sites I have mentioned.

The cards below come all from amazon.fr and can be found doing a search for gtx580 so that you can have all the cards on the same page. I guess they are also available on amazon.com. I am sorry for the french names.

if you want to play at maybe two screens in the future, then get one with 3gb of memory, bigger resolution needs more memory so in this case the gainward would be best. hope this helps.

looks like all the cards you picked fit the bill there

ok, but know that is will be required in the future for proper multi-screen play on high settings

The 580 will do that for most games, but there are allready titles available which dip below the 60fps mark on high settings, and there are many that bring it to it's knees when doing 2+ monitors, though having 3GB of vRam helps fight that

- I don't want to do overclocking
Then I would get one that has a factory OC if you plan on holding onto this card forever and ever.

- I want a card that is well cooled! (very important for me)
Then get one with nice big low RPM fans on it, preferably of 90mm or larger. Conversely you can get one with a blower, and later put on a custom cooler (which is the route I am taking). Avoid blowers (like the eVGA card) unless you have poor case ventilation, but you should be fine with the case you posted.

- Maybe two screens in the future
Any card can do 2 screens, but very few can, or want, to play on 2 screens as the split down the middle makes things annoying. For gaming you do either 1, 3, or 5 screens. For productivity work you do 2. It is much more important to have large, quality, high resolution monitors than to have a multitude of little ones. If you insist on gaming on more than one screen then you will need a card with 3GB of ram, for productivity work on 2 screens it really dosnt matter.

Should be enough for a single 580

Zalman, while a touch over-priced in my opinion, make excelent cases. Just be sure you have at least 2 fans blowing in, and 2 fans blowing out (This includes the PSU fan) in order to get a good air exchange, but with a single card you will be fine.

It is pre-OC'd, it has a very good cooler, Gigabyte tends to make good cards (though I dont know about their French customer support), and it should manage most everything you throw at it. The only down side is that it does not have the 3GB of ram, so no 3 monitor gaming on high settings, but 1-2 should be fine.

Looking @ Amazon prices i found the Twin Frozer III and the Asus Direct CU II exceeding 500 Euro, so i would recommend the Gigabyte

OK you are going to have to accept the fact that no single GPU GFX card can play all games at max settings.....a single 580 for example will only do 34 fps in Metro.

Sorry but I took high school french some 40 years ago and I'm not able to comprehend amazon.fr. Since your english is better than my french, I'd ask you to look at some of these.....since you never going to SLI, the 3 slot card should have no downside and cools very well

Again, searched for the EVGA classified on ya two sites but came up empty ....don't know the french word for classified. But this would be my 1st choice in your situation......why I think so

-You don't wanna OC, factory has done it for you (855 Mhz ~ 11% factory set and guaranteed)
-14+3 VRM design
-new improved cooler
-3GB of memory for y multiple screens

Can be bought for $600 here, that equates top $460 euro, tho for whatever reason proces are usually much higher than the currency conversion would indicate

Failing those I'd get the EVGA card on ya list....the Giga 855 is clocked higher but feedback on newegg is less than stellar.

34 FPS ? no, maybe when the drivers were first released, GTX 580 go avg 48-50 FPS in Metro 2033.
And btw, 34 FPS is more than playable @ ultra 1080P.

1.5 GB or 3 GB won't matter in 2 monitor setup, even with 2d surround.

Evga Classified is a ref design card, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI are more superior in cooling.

+1 for the Gigabyte 855 issues.

I would agree with Jack and go with the Evga card , the support from the company is great and they do stand behind thier cards , any defect is handled with a RMA and any time I have had a problem with one of thier cards , even if it was a year later it was taken care of. On the model number you do want to make sure that it ends with AR , since those cards come with a limited lifetime warrenty and to my knowledge there are no other card manufacturers that give that warrenty.
If you could find the Classified model even if it is over your budget get it , you won't be sorry. Below is a link to show you the card , I know you are ordering from Amazom fr , but look around and see if any other place has this card.
