GTX 960 2gb VS. GTX 760 4gb

Solution
Former gtx 760 owner here xD
In Minecraft i got around 70-80 fps. Minecraft with Sonics shaders i got 70-75 fps
In skyrim i got about 60 (idk)
Cs go 200-250 fps
Bf4 60-75 fps

The diffrence between a 760 and 960, arent that big. Unless you count in mfaa. Which im not sure the 960 has.

That's complete bullcrap. The GTX 960 is superior to the GTX 760 in every way. Also, you don't need 4 GB of vRAM on a GTX 760; when a game starts approaching 4 GB of vRAM usage, the framerate will already have dropped immensely anyway on a GTX 760

Edit: I know there are a few exceptions of the 960 being better than the 760, but I'm willing to bet my money on the 960 running minecraft shaders better.

No idea. Minecraft is horribly optimised and therefore has very inconsistent performance numbers. Both cards should decently maintain a framerate of 60-100 though (with a few drops, expectedly).

What's your monitor's refresh rate, by the way?

1920 x 1080 @60Hz

Ya (Shaders are a must), possibly skyrim, if i need to I will invest in a 970/980 in a 5-6 months if I want to get into heavy gaming, but ya just minecraft shaders for now.

Quick question. Why are we recomending old cards? The rumors about the 960 being slower than the 760 are bs. The 960 is faster, runs much cooler, and uses much less power than the 760. Because of that, it also overclocks much better. You really think nvidia would come out with a card that is slower than its predecessor? Get the 960!

The gtx 960 is already out...... its not worth the price tag

And its much better to buy a high quallety semi outdated card, than it is to buy a cheap version of the newest tec

It's around the same price as the 960, from what i've watched in youtube videos, the 760 with shaders is a solid 60-80 fps, which is what I need. The 760 has a higher memory bandwidth and 2 more GB of VRAM. I'm really lost, i'm still completely unsure which will have better performance because there is no real information on the 960 with shaders, which is what I will be using the GPU for.
