hello all,
i couple of months ago i build my new rig to replace my old "gaming" laptop from 2012. everything has been going well so far and i have my cpu (intel i5 6600k) overclocked to a wopping 4.5Ghz. the problem that i am having is with my gpu, i have had much experince overclocking cpus but not as much with gpus. the gpu i have, gtx 960 4gb model, has recived good reviews for its overcloking cappibilitys so i decided to try it out on this one. most people say they get an average of +150 Mhz core clock speed and +400 Mhz memory speed with no change to the core voltage but maxed out power limit. when i overclock mine, i can only get it to about +35 Mhz on the core clock and +100 on the memory speed. scince i dont have much experience overclocking gpus yet, i came to here to see if i am doing everything right. first i max out the power limit, then i slowly adjust the core speed wile running furmark every 5 - 10 Mgz agustment, and once i have the core clock stable i do basically the same thing. i know not all cpus and gpus are equal but i am not even getting close to what most people saw they are getting, and for a while now i have been thinking that i may have been doing something wrong. thanks for the help!
oh btw here is my rig:
-i5 6600k cpu (4.5Ghz)
-gtx 960 4gb gpu
-MSI M5 motherboard
-8 gb's of ddr4 corsair vengeance ram (2666 speed)
-cooler master 212 evo cpu cooler
-750 watt corsair CXM modular power supply
-120 Gb samsung evo ssd
-1Tb WD black HDD
-Fractal design Define R5 (blackout edtion)
-cheers
