Question GTX 960 displayport maybe broken?

hey there. i got a palit gtx 960 4gb and tried to connect my monitor over displayport but i get signal for like 3 seconds before it loses signal and doesent connect back before i restart my pc. all other ports like hdmi and dvi work without any problems. all my drivers and firmware is up to date ive been trying to troubleshoot this for like 2 days asking in several forums but still nothing. thanks in advance

1) Have you tried a different DP cable?
2) Are we certain the DP cable is compatible with the card? There are different versions such as DP 1.2 and 1.4.

EDIT #1:
According to TechPowerUp, it appears that the card supports DP 1.2.

ive only tried the with dp cable that came with the monitor and didnt thought about trying another cuz i thought dp is backwards compatible or is there else i dont know about dp version? but thank you i will try to order a dp 1.2 cable
