Gtx 960 or R9 380?

I want to upgrade to a new graphics card, and I'm looking at the GTX 960 or the R9 380, but I don't know wich one to get. I've read a lot about them on the internet, and almost everyone says: get the R9 380, but if I do that I would need to buy a new PSU, so is it still worth it to buy the R9 380 or, should I just go with the GTX 960 (for the 960 I wouldn't need a new PSU). And will overclocking make a difference?
Can you maybe also tell me wich version of both cards is the best?
I have an AMD Athlon X4 860K and 8GB RAM.

It shouldn't, I know quite a few people who own the MSI Twin Frozr 960, and they all perform very similarly to the r9 380, except for its obvious lower heat. I would say go for the 960 in this case, as its very similar to the 380 and you won't need to buy another PSU. I for one do not believe in future proofing. So definitely, go for the 960!

If you wanna go Nvidia, get a GTX 960 4GB version and you're good to go, best of both in that case of yours of the power supply.

If you wanna go AMD, get a 380 4GB, and remember, never hold back on the power supply, maybe it's the best option to get a new power supply and a 380 as you'll be "future proof" for another graphics card upgrade.

So, I should just get the gtx 960 4gb? And what manufacturer do you recommend? I really like sapphire's version of the r9 380. And one final question, doesn't the 380 offer more future proofness? Because if it does, I think I'll still just go for the 380, since I'm not planning to upgrade my graphics card every year.

Thanks man! This really helped. So, I should buy the MSI Twin Frozr, or do you (or anyone else) know a better version?

I am an asus fan, but I hate there looks except for the there triple fan card. So go for the MSI Twin Frozr, or if you like the Asus look then go for that!

The asus version does look nice, but its a bit to expensive for me so I'll just go with the MSI. Thanks for your quick reply btw!
