Hi guys. Well as you know I just got my GTX 970 4GB OC from MSI and Farcry 4 along side with it. I'm only getting 39fps (min) to 69 fps (max) with everything set to ultra and AA set to SMAA. Is this because of my i5 3330?

There are my specs :- Processor - i5 3330 @3.0 GHz(3.2 with boost)

RAM - Transcend 8 GB (4x2) @ 1333MHz

Power Supply - Cooler Master G750M

GPU - GTX 970 4GDST OCV1

HDD - Hitachi 500 GB

Yes tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers still no solution. Tho yes keep in mind that I'm still using the release day Far Cry 4 patch (v1.0.0) can't update because of bad internet connection.

Yeah that will work just fine. Make sure you clean off the old paste before applying the new paste that comes with the cooler.

Hello everyone. I can attest that in newer games that any GPU above a 290 the i5 3330 will hold back the GPU. Especially in CPU intensive titles. I wouldn't call it so much a bottleneck, but more the age. I just switched to an i5 4590 and my performance went up drastically. Probably gained 10-15 fps in some. Not to say the 3330 is a bad cpu, it's still decent, and would recommend it over any FX series. But it's finally taking a plunge in age. Just my opinion from having one and finally letting it go this year. Have a good day all.
